Timeless Traditions — Gypsy Music and Orchestra: ‘Bridging Past and Future’
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Timeless Traditions celebrates gypsy music’s rich heritage and versatility. This program explores gypsy music in classical and contemporary forms, with performances, recordings, and interactive workshops.
CONCERT PERFORMANCE PROGRAM:
Showcasing an orchestral classical and contemporary approach: A blend of gypsy-inspired orchestral classics (Liszt, Brahms, Sarasate, Ravel) and contemporary adaptations (Django Reinhardt, Federico Nathan) inviting audiences to experience the evolution of gypsy music through in orchestra though centuries.
ALBUM RECORDING PROJECT / PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Training and industry preparation, unique opportunities for young musicians
to gain industry-relevant experience:
• Introduce students to recording techniques
• Develop skills in self-listening, focus, click-track management, and sightreading
• Professional Recording sessions of the Program
• Encourage adaptability and professional standards in recording sessions
• Mentorship within FAME’S Studio & orchestra: Participate to professional
recording
EXTRA ACTIVITES AND WORKSHOPS:
• Lecture by Federico Nathan: ‘Talks on blending classical and popular music: innovation in orchestral composition: incorporating world and popular music / the art of improvisation in classical music’
• Workshop ‘Improvisation Night: Festive performance showcase’
• Lecture ‘Studio Fundamentals’: hands-on sessions in recording, editing, and mixing
• Lecture ‘Music as a tool for social cohesion: building inclusive communities through orchestral and popular music’

MENTOR / CONDUCTOR: Classical Music Orchestral Course
Timothy Redmond conducts opera and concerts throughout Europe and in the US. He is Professor of Conducting at the ‘Guildhall School of Music and Drama’, aregular guest conductor with the London Symphony and RoyalPhilharmonic Orchestras, co-founder of the international conducting masterclasses ‘And Other Duties’ and is conductor and co-creator of the Royal Albert Hall’s My Great Orchestral Adventure™ concert series.
MENTOR / VIOLINIST: Hybrid Music Orchestral Course
Federico Nathan is a renowned improvisational violinist known for blending different genres in his work. Performing worldwide as a soloist, he leads his own genre-crossing projects. His music fuses classical and popular elements, moving fluidly between structured compositions and free improvisation. He is a String Professor at the Berklee College of Music in Valencia, and occasionally works as a soloist with the Metropole Orchestra in Amsterdam.
