Film Music Orchestral Course

5th to 10th of February 2023

Led by the conductor and percussionist Olivier Dejours. The orchestra will practice and record original music from a motion picture in our professional studio dedicated to film music recording.

Olivier Dejours / Composer / Conductor

As a conductor and composer, he had the constant desire to bring together tradition and creation into his work. He then began a career as both conductor and composer with the constant desire to bring together tradition and creation. As a conductor he has led operas including several notable premieres such as To Be Sung by Pascal Dusapin, Jakob Lenz by Wolfgang Rihm, La Sonate des spectres by Aribert Reimann, La Confession impudique by Bernard Cavanna and Der Kaiser von Atlantis by Viktor Ullmann. He has also composed numerous works for the stage, notably for Matthias Langhoff, Michel Deutsch, Jean Dautremay and Gilberte Tsaï.

Hybrid Music Orchestral Course

12th to 18th of February 2023

Led by the conductor and violinist Etienne Abelin and the composer, producer and DJ Gabriel Prokofiev. This duo will work with the orchestra on Gabriel Prokofiev’s Beethoven9Remix, a mix between classical tradition and modern electronics.

Etienne Abelin / Conductor / Violinist

Etienne Abelin, the famous conductor, creative entrepreneur, and violinist with a passion for inspiring people, described as the post-classical pioneer and icon of new ways in classical music. He has conducted Bach&Electronics with pianist Francesco Tristano, the Youth Orchestra of Caracas and the Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra at La Scala Milano.

As an educator, he developed a "7 Dimensions of Musical Excellence" framework for the Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra. Etienne has also spoken and performed at TEDx events, passing on his passion for modern perspectives on classical music to audiences across the world.

Gabriel Prokofiev / Composer / Producer / DJ

Gabriel Prokofiev is composer, producer, DJ, and artistic director, uniquely positioned at the intersection of the past and future of contemporary music creation. This background in dance music combined with his classical roots gives his music a unique and truly contemporary sound. His works have been performed internationally by orchestras including Seattle Symphony, Detroit Symphony, St Petersburg Philharmonic, Moscow State Symphony, BBC Philharmonic. In 2019, his first full-length opera Elizabetta was premiered by Regensburg Opera in Bavaria.

Recording Orchestral Course

The students will be introduced to the specific skills required on a recording stage. The sessions will be organized all through the presence of the students based on FAME’S sessions’ schedule. The students will have the opportunity to join professional recording sessions under the direction of our in-house conductors for international composers and productions.

Classical Music Orchestral Course

8th to 14th of May 2023

As part of this Classical Music Masterclass, the participants will work on classical music repertoire and will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and musical experience of orchestral performance while working with our experienced conductor Igor Coretti Kuret. Together with our young talented musicians, Luka Faulisi, one of the most promising violinists of his generation, will play Mozart’s Violin Concerto nr.5. and Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 in A major.

Luka Faulisi / Violinist

Luka Faulisi started to play the violin at the age of three and he was a student of Boris Belkin at the Conservatorium Maastricht in the Netherlands. Currently, he is a student of Professor Pavel Berman at the Academy Lorenzo Perosi in Biella, Italy. Berman describes him as an ‘incredibly gifted virtuoso violinist’. Recent debuts include performances with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse with Wilson Ng at the Halle aux Grains; Menuhin Academy Camerata Soloists at the KKL Luzern Konzertsaal; Szczecin Philharmonic under the baton of Case Scaglione. Luka’s debut album “Aria” has been released by Sony Classical International on March 3, 2023.

Igor Coretti Kuret / Conductor

Igor Coretti Kuret is an Internationally esteemed violinist and conductor, Maestro Igor Coretti-Kuret is particularly appreciated for his ability to teach music and communicate with young musicians. He is the founder, Chief Conductor, and Artistic Director of ESYO, the European Spirit of Youth Orchestra. He was a guest conductor of the "Moldova" Philharmonic Orchestra in Iași (Romania). He was granted the CEI Medal of Honor for his commitment and his results with the CEI Youth Orchestra. In the summer of 1989, Coretti-Kuret organized his first music school for young musicians from different European countries, who later formed what was known as CEI Youth Orchestra and eventually evolved into ESYO.

Carte Blanche Orchestral Course

16th to 23rd of May 2023

The renowned violinist Emily Davis, acting as a mentor, will lead the Carte Blanche Masterclass, marking the second part of Seminar #3. Fames Institute will have the pleasure to be hosting and collaborating with the European Union Youth Orchestra on this masterclass. Selected participants of FAME’S Institute Orchestra will work together with EUYO’s participants on a very interesting and engaging program called Earth4AII. The project brings culture to the Earth4AII mix. This innovative project focuses on music, youth, European values, and participation motivated by two big challenges of our era: Democracy and Sustainability.

Emily Davis / Violinist

Emily enjoys a vibrant and international career as an orchestral leader, soloist, chamber musician and teacher. She is the Concertmaster of the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and is regularly invited internationally as a guest leader with orchestras, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra. Emily is driven to share her wide-ranging musical experiences. For three years running she has mentored promising young Italian students at the Ferrara Chamber Academy and has taught many other youth ensembles across the U.K. and Norway.

Recording Orchestral Course

8th to 23rd of May 2023

During Part II of Seminar #3, the students will have the opportunity to participate in the Recording Music Masterclass in the studio of FAME’S Project. Participants will be introduced to the specific skills required in the recording stage. Margarita Kalceva will be our Mentor in residence for this Seminar. As an experienced double bass soloist with an international career, a chamber and orchestra musician, she will mentor the students in the process of recording a solo repertoire that can be used for self-promotion, and they will join professional recording sessions under the direction of our in-house conductors for international composers and productions. These sessions will be organized in the presence of the students based on the Fames sessions’ schedule.
