On 04.09.2026, we welcomed the Vivancos Quartet to the FAME’S Institute. Over the course of their stay, they mentored two student quartets on the art and practice of quartet life.
We got in touch with Quartet Vivancos, who had a word to share about their stay at the FAME’S Institute:
From Vivancos we have amazing memories of this experience. On the one hand, being able to learn some quartets together with “students” was great in a lot of ways… If playing something makes you learn about the piece and music in general we would say that helping others’ groups from outside – it makes you go further. Because you don’t only have to understand the music but also learn how to help others to evolve with this music and, of course, it’s easier to see if something works or doesn’t work from outside than from the inside. And realizing that makes you change the way of understanding music.
On the other hand recording was a great experience. Not only because we’ve been lucky of working with great professionals and amazing people from FAME’S but also living the process of recording professionally a whole piece – it’s been a huge challenge. Not only because it’s hard psychologically to face reality like that but also having to build all the piece not in a “natural” way (as is not live music) and trying to it to make sense in all terms. Not easy work.
But again it’s been great and easier with the great team who’s been working with us. So, in the end, what we feel we need to say is thank you. Thank you to all of FAME’S team and also, of course, to all the Le Dimore team for giving us this wonderful present.
